My New Stump Puller
Bought this old ruster last year, and am just getting around to posting pics.
It’s not exactly farm fresh anymore. I’ve posted a bunch of pics on various Facebook pages. The previous owner fixed it up, and now I am too. There are a bunch of farmer fixes and wrong parts. But I love everything about it! There are welds, chips, runs, bondo, patch panels, extra wires and weird add-ons… plus a narrow-gauge rail torched down to form a hitch. It’s a stump puller! Somebody painted over the chrome with silver paint, which has dulled to a charming chipping gray. Bubba chrome? The stock engine is in good shape. 3.78:1 differential. At 7,600 feet elevation, top speed is 55 downhill with a tailwind and leaning in… downshift at every hill… rattles your bones. When I got it, the gas tank was so full of crud you could dip it out with a spoon. I boiled and sealed the tank, repainted with a rattle can, and replaced every part of the fuel system. Now I’m going over the electrical…. rusted wires, stray wires, corroded connections, rusted-in distributor. Everything goes back to original until the mechanicals are in top order. But the welds, runs, chips and dents stay as-is. They are too awesome to fix! Gas tank is stamped ’10 6 28’ and engine is October 9, 1928, but everything else is 29. Don’t know the frame stamp. Not an original Forest Service truck. Hope you like!

Re: My New Stump Puller
Yellow isn't my color, but it actually looks just fine on that pickup. I like it, and you have the same wiper motor that came in my 29 Tudor. It's a good working aftermarket unit.

Re: My New Stump Puller
They don't put patina like that in a can. It takes years to qualify for it.

Re: My New Stump Puller
Not to criticize, but have you thought of adding a sun visor? They are covered with the same material as the top.

Re: My New Stump Puller
Sun visor? Don't need no steenken sun visor. It flaps in the wind above 45mph.
See my avatar. And that 1930-31 bumper WORKED. Joe K
