Default Fumaze road draft tube with engine pans

A friend of mine purchased an original fumaze accessory road draft tube and had it installed on his prior Model A (without engine pans). He recently bought a new car that had engine pans installed and he simply put it on as usual. I mentioned to him that since the end of the road draft tube was only about an inch from the engine pan that I didn't think the accessory was doing much of anything as he installed it since there wasn't the same "road draft" present on top of the engine pan.

What say you people?

I run a Fumaze with pans and don't notice any problems, or any difference between that and my cars w/o a Fumaze.

I think the Fumaze works better with the engine pans as the draft created by the fan directs the air back and out.

I also run a Fumaze with engine pans and it works just fine.

I don't have pans, and my fumaze makes a difference in the fumes smell inside the car.
