I am a Floridian, born and raised here, as was my father, grandfather, great grandfather, and Great great grandfather. We expect Tropical Storms and hurricanes here, but have luckily dodged them recently. Lots of us in Florida were impacted by Hurricane Irma. The storm truly went from South to North, the entire 400 plus miles from Key West to the FL/GA border.

I'm SO GLAD I live here, most of the LEFT COAST Hurricanes FIZZLE out down near Mexico.
But, a few years ago, my Daughter, Cindy, experienced a TORNADO, by her workplace, in South San Francisco!!!---VERY RARE!
