Only in the fact that I'm not 6 feet under.

I'm out of money and out of room.

Hey Mike,
Hm, 'deleted by owner'.
Do you know any way of looking for something nationally on Craigslist, or must a search be done state by state..what ?

Back in year 2014 when there were a few extra bucks tucked away for the purchase of a Model A Ford, I came across this RED 1929 Ford sedan on a New Jersey edition of Craigslist. At the time, the asking price was $9,500 which was more than I was looking to pay for a gaudy red fordor sedan. As it is, this happens to be one of my favorite A Ford models. Though somebody along the way stuck on cowl lights, the clean uncluttered hood to body curve style has not been spoiled by a cumbersome cowl band. The upgraded juice brakes are okay too. Also, a decent surface prep job with repaint to BLACK would really spruce up this old sedan. The fat fly in the ointment to at least going over to take a look see at this car was the LOCATION, which happens to be on LONG ISLAND, New York in the middle someplace. LONG ISLAND is such a large land mass that it has it's own passenger railroad.

Oh My Gawd! Not LONG ISLAND!!! LONG ISLAND is a place that you really can't get to from HERE . . .no matter where HERE happens to be. Well, that's not entirely correct, but to surface travel onto LONG ISLAND is a standard nightmare any time night or day. So . . . in 2014, the AD for the obnoxious RED 1929 Ford fordor was ignored and forgotten. After a time, the Craigslist AD itself expired.

Suddenly . . . .in August 2016, the screaming RED 1929 Model A Ford AD reappears with an asking price of $8,000 or BEST OFFER. It would appear that I'm not the only person who couldn't get over to LONG ISLAND. Can't help but figure that if this car were located in New Jersey somewhere it would have been long since sold.

Now, the wife and me, happen to own, along with this house in Pennsylvania, an apartment in Fort Lee, New Jersey on a hill above the Hudson River. The access ramp onto the George Washington Bridge ($15 toll) is about four minutes away. Still, I'm figuring that getting back and forth over to LONG ISLAND through the perpetual traffic jam so to take a look at this Model A Ford is still too much trouble.

Perhaps we could hire somebody who lives on LONG ISLAND to go survey this car and maybe low ball the seller. One never knows . . . .
