Default '49 Hard to start

Stock '49 hard to start first thing in morning. If I touch the gas or the choke it just won't fire. If don't touch anything but the starter it (usually) eventually fire. After it warms up it starts and runs fine rest of day. Carb is about a year old and all the wiring is new. Any thoughts or ideas appreciated before I go "tearing" into something.

Thanks
