32-34 oil pump and pan - 1940 block
Motor came with a 32-34 oil pump and i think early pan, oil pump pickup tube goes to a cup after going through the baffle slot, no screen just 90 degree into cup. I have a 8ba pump and pickup that i can get to fit by cutting the baffle, would like to get a pic of the 42 to 48 pickup tube to see if it would be better fit, it looks to be longer but it's hard to tell with the pics i have found. Should look for another pan would be easier.
hope this makes some sense thanks kurt |

Another pan, 35-48 would fit your 1940 block. A 32-34 oil pan is totally wrong for that block

What Brian says! What car are you putting this in and what wishbone setup?
If you're building a 32 with a stock wishbone, then you'll want one of the earlier oil pans (around 37 or so) - as they have more of a relief/bend where the wishbone passes by the rear of the pan. On a later 24 stud pan, this area is flat and the stock 32 wishbone will hit the pan when you hit any larger bumps in the road. One can modify a later pan and create some more relief for the wishbone . . . just something to think about on a 32. |
