Old Ford Truck Pictures
I was rummaging through my "stuff" and found these pictures to post. The first is a Model A? Not a clear picture but my Dad told me they began hauling stove oil in their flatbed Model a with the tank strapped on by cables. Before they got a pump, they would haul the oil in 5 gallon buckets up the ladder with a big funnel and pour it in. He said they got as much on them as they got in the tank! The 35 Flatbed was one of their freight haulers. My Grandpa had the franchise for all freight from 85th Avenue (around Green Lake in Seattle) north to Everett, WA. That business is still in operation today and he started it in the 30's. The oil truck was their 1936 Ford. The actual picture was taken about 1948 and I had a friend paint me an oil painting of it. My Dad passed in 2018 at 95 1/2 and he could tell me truck stories right until it was his time. What memories.

Re: Old Ford Truck Pictures
My family and yours crossed paths in that area at that time. Attached is a picture of my 1936 Ford 1.5 ton farm truck, which I restored as a tribute to my dad and grandpa. It is a parade truck for our family business, which is also still going.

Re: Old Ford Truck Pictures
I love those old cabovers. I drove a 56 flatbed with a 1500 gallon water tank strapped to the bed with a cable to put water on a road in front of a Galion road grader as he spread pit run gravel. I got going a little fast on a corner as the tank was about half empty and of course the water shifted and put me up on two wheels. I thought I was going over! It was 1964 and I was 16. I learned to “slow it down”!
