Orwell health heater door
I have a Otwell health heater and I was wondering if I'm missing a spring on the top bolt to hold the door and deflector tight? Here is a pic. of the door. It was on my car with just the 2 bolts holding it on and the door was hard to move with the top bolt tightened.

Yes. I think(car isn't handy to look at) I used a longer bolt and nut to secure the housing, the extra length for a spring, door, and deflector. The door and deflector now stays put. I think I used a locking nut keeping tension on the spring, door, and deflector.

Mine is an all-original, and it too has a spring. I think the consensuses is that you do need a spring.

The screw is a shoulder type so that it "bottoms out" in the threads cut in the top mounting hole. Then there is a lockwasher and nut on back (engine side) of fire wall to keep it tight. Last edited by Benson; 02-29-2016 at 06:24 PM. |
