30-31 VS 32 top irons
Are there significant differences in 30-31 and 32 roadster top irons?

If you mean are they interchangeable, the answer is no, not without extensive modification one to the other.

Re: 30-31 VS 32 top irons
All I know is this:
I had a 31 Roadster ( since given to my daughter ) that had top irons that were different from all other 31 Roadsters that I have seen. My friend and I at many Texas Tours would look at all the 31 Roadsters to see if any matched my car, but have never found a match. We always thought that mine must have been 32's. If not then what. Re: 30-31 VS 32 top irons
1930-31 Roadster had two very different irons. The "Standard" used a tubular steel style which was a design (NOT FIT) carryover from 1926-1929. The "Deluxe" (which was a factory 1-1/2" chop windshield) used a flat iron design similar to the 1932.
As Dave noted, it would require major modifications to change a 1930-31 to 1932. Charles, if your Model A was a true original 1931 "standard", that is one of the rarest, as almost all 1931 roadsters were deluxe, most "standards" were 1930. |
