Default Body Wood

Hey guys,

I'm in the process of replacing the back half sub rails and cross rails in my 31 coupe. I'm also putting in new wood that the sub rails and cross rails mount to.

I was wondering should I treat the wood with some kind of water seal or just put it on as is?

On my Victoria project, lot's of wood, I used two coats of black stain followed by two coats of Spar Urethan in a clear semigloss after fitting the wood. I have seen wood installed without sealing but personally think it should be sealed.
