Glass Pack Mufflers
As I remember 60 years ago when having exhaust done. We would be asked if we wanted to turn glass pak muffs around. I think if run run the exhaust towards the open end of the louvers it would be quieter than if ran it more like straight thru. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks. Stan

And that's when they sound really good.. at least that's what we thought 60 years ago.

Re: Glass Pack Mufflers
We used to pour oil in the glaspaks to make them burn out sooner and make them noisier.

Re: Glass Pack Mufflers
In the last fifty years my taste for noise has changed and no longer seek the same exhaust note. by the time I had my first '40, flatheads were waaaaay too slow and the best buy in performance was the Olds Rocket engines. Chevys were still a bit expensive for my budget. Now that my ability is limited, I just want to drive my flathead car first, with any single replacement muffler. Young guys ask if I was the original owner. Any suggestion for a good muffler that fits an original system. Authentic not an issue, yet. Thanks: Fred A
