Default 40/41 1 ton Express Grill center trim

Is the grill center piece trim on the 40/41, 1 Ton trucks perhaps similar to any other models?

Regarding your question, the Centre Grille piece, Part Number 11T8242 is unique to the 1941 Ford models only. The top photo shows the actual Die-cast Grille Piece, while the photo of the "new" truck shows a 1941 Ford Pickup with this centre grille piece showing. The Grille is different on the 1940 Ford Pickups - Trucks. If you have a 1940 model, this part is not applicable.

The above picture shows the 1940 Ford Pick-up, Truck Grille. Notice that it does not have the wide Centre Grille piece like the 1941 Ford Pick-up, Truck Grille has. The Hoods are also different between these two models. On the 1940 model, a V8 emblem is stamped into the metal ahead of the Vent. On the 1941 Fords, the Hood is plain. Hope that this information helps.

Just for the comparison, here is a closeup picture of the 1941 Ford Fire Truck that is on display at the Early Ford V8 Foundation Museum in Auburn, Indiana. Note the wide chrome centre grille piece that is only on the 1941 Fords. Hope that this helps you to identify your Pick-up. Your Ton Truck has to be a 1940 model or a 1941 model. It can't be both?

Thank you for the information. I was under the impression that the 40 and 41 had the same grill trim. I have a 40 with the narrow hood ornament. So I would have to rephrase my question: do the 40 1 ton truck perhaps share the center grill yrim with any other models?

no that is a one year only grill piece. I have been looking for a good 41 for three years with no luck

It seems that the 41 Ford Truck Grille Centres are thin on the ground and hard to locate. Here is a picture of a nice Australian 1941 Ford Tonner that has a 1941 Grille Centre section fitted. as you can see, it is mis-matched.
