This is the cover of the Australian Sales Brochure for the 1940 Fords. You can see the wider bars that support the small Trim Strips, and the lesser number of Grill Bars.

Did you realize that '39 STANDARD and '39 DeLuxe Fords use two completely different bumpers? Standards still utilized the holdover '37 & '38 bumpers. DeLuxe bumper is symmetrical with indented stripe, full-length, midway up across the bumper. DD

All Australian 1940 Fords got the carry-over 1939 Ford Style Bumper Guards / Over Riders. This is the front view of the Sedan with the 1939 Ford Tear Drop Tail Lights.

Interestingly, that is the '37, '38 and '39 STANDARD bumper itself. DD

Here is a picture of the other 1940 Ford Deluxe Sedan in our local V8 Club. This one is Body Number 404. Notice the earlier model bumpers and over riders that all Australian 1940 Fords used.

It appears that some Australian 1940 Ford Deluxe models got the revised Grille Sides like that Sloper.
