Default Window Channel

I am working on the slidding window for 39 Woodie. I am not excited about using the material I bought for the vertical strips as they give problems getting the window pull handle into lock position. Has anyone recovered the old vertical channels? If so, what did you use & how did you go about it? Thanks.

I am also having the same issue with the vertical channels on my 39. Is there any type of "lube" you can use to make the windows slide up and down easier?

I used Jig-A-Loo for the same problem. It worked well. Don't get it on the paint.
