Stanchion post and windshield-1931 Delux Roadster
I am trying to finish the restoration of my 1931 Delux roadster and have a couple of questions. How is the post liner attached to the inside of the windshield stanchion? Does it need to be soldered top and bottom or is it held in some other way?
Second question: I bought a new windshield gasket set. Are the screws through the finger pulls and the frame cones the only things holding the windshield together? If I remove them, can I just force the windshield halves apart and put in the new gasket and probably new glass beading? Thanks in advance for your help |

On my 31 Deluxe, the liners were spot welded in, top and bottom. I assume they are original.

if you take the bolts out for the cones, the top bar of the window pulls up and out. the window pulls do not hold the frame together from my experience
on my 31 the liners were/ are also spot welded in |
