Default Exhaust note

I heard the quail sound ( first time in a long time ) while following another A going to a show. He pulled away for a stop, I think when he shifted into second is when I heard the quail sound,It only lasted for a second or two. Not ever hearing my car make this sound, can it be heard, how is it made, when is it made? Upon arriving to the show, someone said to me your car is so quiet, what muffler do you have? Aries I replied. I think it would be a nice sound to be able to parade or just putt around making the quail taking flight sound :-)

I have a factory muffler on my truck. It seams like a lot of the baffle holes are much larger than they were originally. I keep wondering if I should replace my muffler to get that nice factory sound, or to keep my muffler factory original.
