Re: transfer&floor shift levers
My suggestions would be to get an repair/service manual to start with. Are you looking to remove the levers for service or?

The shift lever for the transmission is held in the shift tower by a large threaded retainer. I put them in neutral before removing the lever. Watch for a pin there. If it's loose, it can fall into the transmission making for more work. If in doubt, pull the whole shift tower. The transfer case should have a simple lever set up but if you remove one, the mat should be easy to install unless you have to cut the holes out. A person can also just pull the transmission cover and use it as a pattern at least on some of the old Fords. I don't know about the old 1963 models. |
