2-Door Flat Glass Power Window Motor Conversion
Hello to all,
Just wondering if anyone has had any experience (good or bad) with installing the 2-Door Flat Glass Power Window Motor Conversion. I was "thinking" about possibly Purchasing and installing into my '36 Ford pickup. Bruce in California |

The one I have does not turn the window crank. It has not given any problems in 20 plus years of operation. The window crank turner type looks interesting and should work well. If you have a 12 volt system and there is a square window crank adapter in the kit, it looks interesting. (they are cheap enough)

Hello 51 MERC-CT
THANK YOU for your reply. I was thinking of Purchasing the Kit that does not turn the window crank (like yours). Good to hear it has not given any problems in 20 plus years of operation. Bruce |

Switching to power windows in a 36 pickup would not be a problem, but the original cranked type moved up then forward to close. You would lose the forward motion, sometimes referred to as smokers vent. Some power window producers take the original linkage so you don't lose the slide back function.

Also dealt with an Autoloc set-up not so good; probably the same stuff Johnny Law and the the other Hoffmann companies peddle. Thin doors are fun. |

I've always use Specialty Power windows.Doing a 35 Chevy now ansd ahd a problem with rrear side glass and the changed the power regulator so I can get the window down farther. But they are 16 miles from me and I went down to the shop and he came back to my house and we worked it out. They are great to work with

Also, beware of off brand kits. If you need parts, you could be in trouble.
