Boo's Model A
The first shot of this Model A was from a 1947 issue of Field and Stream, The second shot was taken in my driveway a couple of months ago. That is the famous Boo Lowery behind the wheel. Boo was at one time a big name on the silver screen being best known for his starring role in the Hollywood blockbuster "Big John and Little Laura" where he played opposite Karen Black of Easyriders fame. This movie was about the Ashley Gang who were the South Florida version of Bonnie and Clyde. Since Boo's retirement From acting he has done his best to avoid the paparazzi and autograph seekers.and has mostly played around with old fords and chased gators around the local swamps in a souped up air boat with another local legend Charlie Price of "Vintage Speed" Fame and their south Florida land baron buddy Mike Herbach. These two pictures show how this old buggy has been maintained in its mid forties form for over 70 years. Except for the addition of a winch on the front the two pictures are almost identical. I hope you guys enjoy this little bit of south Florida history and these two pictures. Rich

Re: Boo's Model A
Can anyone make these pictures bigger by remote control? I thought my grandson would be a crackerjack at putting these shots up! Rich

Re: Boo's Model A
GEE RICH i should hire you as my agent...the buggy was built in 1938 and improved over the years the owned was a judge in town, never married, this was his love, it has all kinds of compartments and dodads, 4.11 rear, 4spd trans, wench runs off the water pump. he last had it inspected in 1976, then he bought a 1958 4wd ford to hunt from, i had a sister buggy in 1960 that i had bought from one of his hunting buddies. i always wanted this one but he would not get rid of it, just sat in his garage. he died in mid 80's , it disapiered, then 1988 his sister ''my 4th grade teacher'' called me up and wanted to know if i was interested in Harry's model A. i dropped the phone and ran right over and got it. i have a lot of pix of it in woods and at their camp, some day when i learn to post pix i will. still has his sleeping bag and other camping gear in it

Re: Boo's Model A
Hey Boo, you were out of town, hope I got the story right. This is the best I could remember from your sister's recollections. Rich
