Default pic of vin font?

anyone have a pic of what the number 1 should look like for 1930? searched and seen it look like a capital I. this confuses me. also, dont worry, im just restamping the numbers to make them readable.

I think an an old restorer mag had an article on what was period correct but I don't remember the exact publication date. Good luck

Judging standards has the samples for 28-29 and 30-31. Yes your "1" will look like an "I"....not sure when the change was made. #s 6 and 9 were also redesigned.

On page 542 of the service bulletins there is an illustration of both styles of numbers used.

6 and 9s are different later.

Pluck's site will tell you the month and day you motor was accepted and passed at the end of assembly. Your car could have been assembled any where up to 3 months after that date. To my knowledge that is no way to narrow it down any more that that. Someone will correct me if I am wrong.
