Default Sharing photos as thumbnails..

I have done the search thing to try and find out how some of you are able to share photos as thumbnails. I use Photobucket and whenever I use a photo from there it comes through full size. Do any of you know a way for me to use the thumbnail size photos with Photobucket or is that an impossibility?

I usually download thumbnail pictures from my computer files, or would that actually be considered an upload . Jeff, Very Tangled usually keeps me informed on which is which .
I find this is much easier and quicker for me than going to pics stored in Photo Bucket.

JM, I have tried that a number of times with no success. I will be the first to admit that I am not the most computer literate person out here by any stretch. I have no doubt that my 13 year old grand daughter could probably accomplish that in the blink of an eye but it's a different generation.

Have you tried to load using the 'Additional options' feature.
Just click on 'manage attachments' browse to select from computer then upload.
If the picture is too big it will let you know.

The only times that my pictures will not load from my computer properly is when they are sized too large. I don't recall the exact numbers that I resize to, but doing this by trial and error a few times, I find that if I resize them to fit the size of my computer or Tablet screens they will upload or download just fine on the Fordbarn's picture posting system.

PS.....I started this response about an hour ago, but got sidetracted a couple times and when I finaly hit the post button, several other folks had alread explained the procedure, probably way better than I could have done , so it looks like you gotter' going now .

AHA! Thank you, Tony. That was the trick, using the paperclip. I've always wondered what the heck that was there for. I guess this old dog has learned a new trick!

This is good advice from 51 MERC-CT. I have enlarged his Thumbnails so that it is easier to see the procedure he describes.
When I select a Picture that I want to add to Ford Barn, I start off by attaching the picture in the correct size to an email. It will come up in the Attachment part of the email. From there, I reduce the size of the email, and drag the Photo of the email onto my Screen. I then delete this email without sending it. Then, when I follow the procedure that was given by 51 MERC-CT, the photo is in the correct size and I simply add it to "Browse", as shown above.

Nice 32 Truck!

From your post, did you left click on your picture to enlarge it on screen?

Hi Everyone, I've recently discovered that it doesn't matter how large the file size of the photo on your PC. When I upload them the forum software automatically resizes it, no muss, no fuss. These show up as thumbnails.

Mercman is the Boss for fixing thumbnails to full screen!

Jeff, if we are talking apples to apples here, what you are saying definately does not work the same for me when posting thumbnail pictures from my Samsung Tablet here to Fordbarn's system. I take high resolution/HD digital pictures using my Sony Cybershot camera, then download these to my PC and Tablet. If I attempt to upload these directly from my Tablet into Fordbarn's software for thumbnail picture posting, without resizing them first, they will definately not upload for me, UNLESS the FB forum software has changed in the last two days

As mentioned in my previous Post, I firstly add the selected picture/pictures to an email. On my Computer, I get to choose from 5 different sizes, namely:- (1) = Smaller 640 x 480 = 90kb. (2) = Small 800 x 600 = 140kb. (3) = Medium 1024 x 768 = 230 kb. (4) = Large 1280 x 1024 = 384kb. (5) = Original Size 2.96mb.
I always choose the Large, as I find that Original Size is just too big. When the Attachments for these photos appear in my new email, I simply shrink this email so that my Screen is visible, and drag each Attachment from my email to my Screen. I am now in business, as when I open the pages shown by 51 MERC-CT, I simply drag these pictures from my Screen and add to the respective columns. At this time, I simply delete this new email, as it has served its purpose well. There may be other ways of adding pictures, but this way works for me every time. That is why I am sticking with this procedure.

I forgot to add, that some of my Original Size Photos run at 6mb, which is way too big to add as Thumbnails. That is why I stick with "Large" and not "Original Size".

Ok ,I have put pictures on before but why when you go through the process and try to add a second picture the first drops off? The HAMB has the same process but you can load as many as you like there. Is it my ipad causing this?

Are you using the Manage Attachments function below or the Paper Clip above the box? After the first post you have to use the Manage Attchments function.
