I've run the 1007B in the stock car and sold an engine To KS with one He said it ran very well on the street. But that was a long time ago. I never thought I'd say this, but I have an EAB cam in the 280 in my truck. WE have a few hills here in Vt and this truck doesn't have to be puled out od OD to climb most of them, it just levels them.

I dug out an old Honest Charley catalog from 1961 which lists Isky cams. The 1007 cams according to it are as follows:

1007 In. 18-56, Ex. 59-15 Lift .312

1007 B In. 20-55, Ex. 60-15 Lift .355

1007-LD In. 26-55, Ex. 60-20 Lift .370

Valve lash on all three is .012 & .014 In & Ex

Oh, and you could buy either one of those back then for $41.25 plus shipping!

All of those are listed as "track" cams. Each one is a bit more radical than the last.

As far as I'm concerned, those names for cams were for marketing.

Excellent info. I have a 1007B cam that Pete did. It will likely be a while before my engine is up and running so time to make any necessary changes. I didn't pay too much attention to specs etc, I just liked the sound and thought it wouldn't be too "radical" for my application. I know the approach is somewhat backwards, but my engine (C69) will be 0.060" with stk stroke, no porting, and likely single stk carb on early stk alum intake. Car will weigh at approx 1500 lbs and has Mustang T5 with late twenties Ford banjo rear. Tires will li,sly be Ford 19" X 3" with overall dia of about 28". Car will be for street but also for occasional track use. Thoughts?

Primarily so and some of the names were really humorous.
"Track" usually denoted a higher RATE of lift for more power off the corners.
"5 Cycle" was another good one that described the use of the Milan cooling 5th stroke principle.
You had to be a student of history to get where some names came from.

Ziggy
That cam should work just fine. Get as much compression as you can. Pete can help. Good porting can do wonders.
