Vehicle identification located where?

Hi. I'm new to model T's. I've just made a deal, and will go to pick up what is left of a T two weeks from now. But I don't know where are the vehicle identification located on the T. I thought it was on the engine block. My engine has been changed, and doesn't fit the papers. From what I understood from reading at the barn, numbers were also stamped into the frame? Can anyone tell me where on the frame I should look for those numbers?

Some time in 1926 Ford started lightly stamping the top of the frame rail on the passenger side by the door area. If its there it will take some cleaning to see. Ideally it should match the engine numbers but realistically probably wont.
Usually with a U.S. title from the state of origin, the engine numbers are the V.I.N. On the Model T they are on the side of the block by the water inlet... ws

If your Model T was mfg after Dec 22, 1925, then there should be a stamped number on top of the frame rail, most times on the passenger side, but sometimes on the drivers side, just in front of the front running board bracket brace, that stamped number would match the engine block number, if the original block is still in the frame.
