standard ford with a 331 rear gear
My friend has a 1950 ford he would like to try a 331 gear out of a 51 automatic ? will it be to much gear? the 50 is stock. thanks for any info. Jack. the car has a 3.78 now,

If everything is in decent condition and the terrain is reasonable it will work great. I often start with 2.23 gearing and just a bit of clutch slip makes it simple. The 3.31 should be even better.
