Default head light lens

I have new reflectors and rubber lens seals - reflectors are Taiwan, seals are unknown origin. How in the world can the seals be kept in the reflector while the lens and retaining ring are being installed?

probably because they were cork! there are little tabs that hold them around the light on the bucket part.
