Default fuel guage ohms

I am installing new gauges in my '78 F100. The fuel guage is the GM style with resistance of 0-90 ohms. The sender unit in the tank is 10-70 ohms. I really don't want to drop the tank to change the sending unit, so is there any type resistor I can put on the guage to make it work with the Ford sending unit? Thanks.

Have never used one but thought something like this would be helpful on a future project I'm gathering parts for.

Why would you use GM gauges in a Ford?

They are not necessarily GM gauges estout81, but the fuel guage does have the same resistance as GM, Nissan and probably some others. They are Dolphin gauges. Nearly all the aftermarket fuel gauges use the 0-90 resistance.

Thanks 5851a. That's a possibility.
