Default Cracked Roadster windscreen pillar

Hi Guys,

When I tried to tighten up the windscreen pillar mount on my 28 Roadster Pickup, I discovered a crack running around the top of the pillar mount..

I have tried to attach pics but it fails..

I have hunted for advice but cant find anything out there..

Is it as simple as undoing the 4 screws and cutting the windscreen wiper cable to remove the pillars and windscreen as one assembly to get to the crack??

Has anyone else done this repair?? Can it be welded up in place?? I was wondering if there might be reinforcing under there?? Or a double skin?? or maybe wood??
Please excuse the lack of correct terminology.. Any advice will be welcomed and appreciated

Kindest regards

Steve

Are you sure it's not just cracked paint? is there actual movement along the crack?

Yes, a bit too much movement.. I had tried to tighten the screws before I noticed the crack opening.. Can I weld it??
