Default 1936 ford roadster dimension needed please!

Hey guys i'm so close to wrapping up this 36 restoration, trying to fit the top irons now. I need the dimension from center of windshield post stud to center of windshield post stud, basically where the top sits over. Can anyone give me that measurement so i can see if this one is in the ballpark. Im getting about 46-3/8" but the wood header fits pretty tight, hard to get back on once you take it off. Need to figure out whats going on

almost there

that is a really nice example of a 36 roadster, love the colour. I could get the information for you tomorrow if no on else chimes in before then.

it was bothering me so I went out to the garage and measured mine - its bang on 46 3/8 between the centres of the studs.

thanks for verifying your car. thats crazy you got the same number as me! anyone else have this measurement for reference? it looks like the aftermarket wood header is machined for 46" centers.

in my wood header it has kind of round inserts fixed into the header which go over the windshield post tops, I will check tomorrow if the header is machined for any particular size, I can take a picture of it but it really will be tomorrow before I do that.

Hi Everyone, rickyracer1962, These are from my '36 Phaeton. Dad and I re-did the top about six years ago. Used the aftermarket header, and needed to work the wood and some of the aftermarket top irons that fit over the windshield posts. Measurement is outside-to-outside, so your 46 3/8 seems right. It's not the windshield's fault.
