Default Lincoln Columbia in a Ford

Hey guys I’m new to Columbias so I have questions. I have a 39 deluxe coupe and want to install a Columbia. I have a guy that has a 39 Lincoln Columbia with all of the controls. Will it fit in a 39 deluxe? What modifications would I need to do? He wants $850 for it.

Give John a call. You may as well get correct information,

BTW, that is a very good price for that unit if everything is in good shape.

Internals are the same and they’re the same width.
This was discussed here a few months ago. Do a search for Lincoln Columbia then look for the topic Next winters Columbia project.

$850 is just the start. Much more to get them in top shape.

The Lincoln rear ends are a 4.44 gear. The Columbia works well with a 4.11 for all around driving. Flat country a 3.78. The actual Lincoln center section is made differently than a Ford but the Columbia specific parts work with Ford parts.

Be aware that the Lincoln uses a wider spring and larger diameter spring shackle bolts
