Default Fall colors in Grand Teton National Park

AnnaRae went off to play with her sister and mother for three days so I took a quick trip to Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks in Old Henry with little Lady (Chihuahua). 830 miles in three days. I was surprised I couldn't find a room anywhere in that area so had to camp in the tent. Rained all the first day and night and half the next day. Got down to 30° the second night. I would rather have had a room.

I realized when we got into the national parks why everyone was there. I'd never been there in the fall. Video here: https://youtu.be/2gY7HkrfNJ8

Morning shot at the very picturesque Oxbow Bend of the Snake River with the Tetons beyond.

Other shots:

On Yellowstone Lake in Yellowstone National Park:

125 year old historic Lake Yellowstone Hotel:

A Ford Barn fan (not a member) from the far north of Sweden camping near me that recognized my car from my previous trip stories that came over to visit. He told me his name and the very small village in the north where he lives but I couldn't even pronounce those words much less remember them.

Back at Oxbow Bend for the sunset at the end of the day:

Fantastic!

How many miles on your car and how many do you put on a year.

270,000 miles on Old Henry. 12,000 miles per year at my current driving rate. It's been exactly 10 years since we finished the restoration and I started driving him and he's gone 98,000 miles in that time.

We have some of what I call "moonscapes" here in Utah as well.

In real life your terrain is quite colorful. Looks like tailings from a mining operation? What's the story on the sign?

Beautiful, I was there this summer and loved it, but the fall colors are way more dramatic. Thank you!
