Default Help finding Dipstick

Sounds crazy but I can't find a dipstick for a 292. I don't need the tube, just the stick. Everyone has one for a flathead and then they list the newer engines but nothing for a Y block. Anyone know where I can get one??? It is for a '56 292. Thanks.

macsautoparts.com B9TE-6750-B oil dipstick - 292 --60 / 62. $18.92 .

I believe it may be the wrong one though . I have a 56 292 and it looks shorter than the one they show. It may go in the side not in front . That's all i can locate , I went though e-bay listings and found a lot of ford cars, trucks and tractors but no 292 ones .

I just now checked the one in my 56 and it is a little longer than i remembered, it's in storage most of the time. I bought it as a one owner car , a friend, so i know it has the original factory installed engine that came in it. Overall it is 23-3/8 " from the seal at the top . From the bottom end to the ADD OIL it is ,1-1/2 " then to the FULL mark it is ,2-1/4 ".
If you found one that is long enough and the oil fill marks are off you can make your own . Just make sure you have the correct amount of oil in it when you do it.

T-Birds and trucks are different because of the pan difference and maybe the location it goes in to the pan .

Thanks guys. Sounds like the Tbird might be different than mine. There has got to be someone who sells these...they sure have an awful lot of other parts out there! Got the car running today and it sounds pretty good... louder than I expected. It has these tiny straight mufflers. Like a 50's hotrod I guess.
