That's it Pete For a price & it is generally too much. I will go without or use a vac gauge as I can get that in my gauges style.

OK, so it sounds like you ARE more interested in being "stylish" (and that's OK), rather than knowing if your generator went south, or even if you threw a belt (oops, those ain't OK). Those things show-up almost instantaneously on a working volt meter of ANY style or manufacture. DD

Coop what is stylish? I just like things neat & the amp in the dash works fine. I check my equipment frequently.I may be one lucky guy but I put 85,000 miles on the 32 roadster & never had a breakdown or flat. We have been coast to coast & border to boarder & Canada + going 1,000 miles one way to Pomona every year for about 10 years. I never carried a spare, jack or tool kit. No room as the wifes' luggage took all the room we have been in hail, white outs, thunder storms, dust & high wind.

You're the one mentioning that the "STYLE" of your gauges seems to mean more to you than the importance of WHAT information that gauge monitors, which is fine. Me personally...I would never again opt for an amp gauge over a volt meter. Volt meters offer so much more valuable information than an amp gauge. Also, depending on the type of amp meter you have, they have been known to cause electrical fires if not rated for an ampacity greater than what passes through it. It looks like you HAVE been very fortunate over the years with no breakdowns. Hmmm....no tool kit or jack? I'll bet you carry a cell phone with 1-800-AAA-HELP pre-programmed-in to it. Continued good luck in your travels! DD
