Ok so I did take a look at the Service Bulletins today;
Pg 249
insert carrier support through bracket, locking in its place with castle nut and cotter pin.
Page 508
(after fitting the wheel so it fits down in the well, remove carefully as not to disturb setting)
After removing wheel securely tighten the A-21894 flange nut.

Nothing in there about leaving anything loose.

Now that I have the 5.50, I too find it impossible to get the wheel on.
I'm tempted to cut the bottom of the triangle off and just use the top two studs. Anyone see any issue with that holding?

Well that was dumb.

Everyone knows you are suppose to plug the hole in the bottom of the well and fill the well with oil.

If Coker keeps polishing tire moulds instead of investing in new ones the tires are going to look like the ones on Donald Duck or Mickey Mouse's car in a few years. The ones I bought a couple years ago are almost three inches bigger on O.D. than the old Cokers .
