Default 1936 Ford Interior Trim Paint

What color is Benton Gray? I have been told it is brownish gray or grayish brown but at car shows most of the guys have used a medium gray on dash and garnish mouldings. I suspect they tried to match a faded original color.

Two female paint specialists (as well as my wife) insist the Benton Gray sample on page 32 of the 1935-36 Ford book is a shade of green bordering on olive. Another dealer told me the code, R-130-P, I once was given is a Honda code for red.

Autocolorlibrary.com offer to mix Benton Gray for $109.96 per quart, plus ship.
I would attempt to mix my own if someone can confirm the color actually is a brownish gray. I have found such a shade on the face of my waterfall.

Can some Ford Barn correspondent help me out? Thanks.

Benton Gray non-metallic: IM 066: steering wheel, horn button (two pieces), steering column and lock, shift lever, hand brake

Benton Gray metallic: IM 064: dash, radio head, glove box door.

TCPGlobal Auto Color Library 858-909-2150

They will mix it in lacquer, enamel, acrylic or whatever you want.

Thank you, Don Rogers, for the information! I'll try TCPGlobal Auto color Library. In the meantime can you confirm the Benton Gray shade is brownish gray rather than medium gray?

I know it when I see it, but I can't describe it to you. Also know that the dash and trim molding are metallic, while the steering wheel and column are non metallic.

It is indeed a brownish gray and the paint (both metallic and non-metallic) paint from TCP Global is an excellent match to the original color. (We used both versions very recently.)

Attention Mr. Rogers. Thanks for your response. Can I then assume the Benton Gray represented on the second page 32 in the 1935-36 Ford book is a close approximation of the actual color?
