Re: Please help identify Ford Flathead
Seems high for a chance, but good for you! Pictures of the intake removed and the front oil galley could be more helpful (but really whatever). Good for you.
If you like, HF can be. Or Henry Ford also.... i guess... Not sure if any parts were ever stamped HF. |

Alisad;
Please measure the center to center of the main cap bolts. 3 1/4" ? or 3". Best LB id short of puling the bearing. Thanks Gene Tulsa |

Love the water pumps on the top, when did they move them to the Bottom? Learn something new every time I visit Ford Barn.

Re: Please help identify Ford Flathead
The change to pump in block came in 1937 but they were still 21 stud engines for over a year longer. Ford had used the hot pump method of coolant circulation since the advent of the model A but they finally got wise and started pumping at the cooler end from the radiator in. Circulation was much better and the pumps also served as part of the motor mounts.

Did you confirm that the engine was an LB? That was your question to identify and estimate value. Thanks Gene Tulsa |
