Tire tube problems
I've had a couple of tubes split where they sit in the well( 19 inch wheels). Is this because the tire is flexing more as it ages or is it poor quality tubes? Any body else had similar problems? What's the solution? What tubes are the best?

Re: Tire tube problems
Has anyone tried motorcycle tubes? They come in various sizes and are usually real rubber rather than Butyl rubber. The reason is, natural rubber will not split like Butyl rubber when it is punctured. A safely issue to be sure.

Re: Tire tube problems
Are 19 inch tubes produced in our size 19x.450-500e for m/cycles? Tried to source some whilst touring Australia in 2008 but all the m/cycle ones were 3.50x 19 ( which I tried but they burst!)

Re: Tire tube problems
I ordered my natural rubber 19" tubes from Berts in Denver. Call them to see if they are still available.

Re: Tire tube problems
Are you for starters using flaps? My Cretors popcorn truck had all new tubes and tires but they went flat on me and it was because of no flaps. It doesn't take long for a tube to get chaffed through even in a trailer while tied down as the vehicle doesn't sit idle even on a trailer. Mine traveled a lot of miles in my three axle trailer and they were still abraded. Just a thought.
