Does anyone have pics or point me to pics/info of early and late rumble step plate position on rear bumper and any bracketry to bolt it on?

When I did the conversion for my dad on the coupe, we just ordered the brackets from Berts. The instructions on where and how were easy to follow. One step on the bumper bracket and one on the fender.

heres the most common style
i also have the cast iron one which is different
the 28-29 had a square plate and the early 28 had the rubber insert
the carriage bolt head should be black on this one
give me specifics on what you need photos of

Thanks Tom, that gives me some good clues, Bert's pic was vague.

I am running twin tail lights on a 28, so may bolt the step to the large nut that holds the oval bumper clamp on, to get some clearance for people to step over light.

I really don't know, but they have two types, round and square. It was my understanding that the square ones go down on bumper and the round ones go on top of the fenders. Rightly or wrongly, this how I'm configuring mine. Using a plumb line and a rule, I located the hole 3/4'' behind the center of the centerline of the wheel on the fender. I haven't got the ones (square) for the bumpers yet. I also cut a gasket or pad out of an old inner tube to go underneath.

this is the most common 28-29 step plate
it was used on the fender and on the lower bracket
i dont have a lower bracket ,but it mounts on the body, rather than the bumper bracket
Brattons has the square step plates and gasket ,but no bracket
Berts may have one
mine has a hole in it which is wrong ,it had in integral bolt in the bottom
there is an earlier one with Ford script on it
look at the JS pg 15-9
that section really needs some photos to show the differences

Tom,
Is that rubber on the bottom, outside diameter, looking at the bottom photo?
Is the outside, middle, perimeter Aluminum?

Boy, I hope you understand what I'm asking...

Here is a picture of the three styles for 28. The bracket shown is for LHD, the RHD is a mirror image, I have one somewhere but I cannot locate it to photograph.
