32 B Cowl Vent Drain
I have a mid-32 Model B pickup. Original firewall. Repro firewall insulator from C&G Auto. Firewall grommet set from Drake's (including drain hose).
My question is: I don't see any way to twist/route the hose to the cowl drain nipple and get it through the hole in the firewall. The nipple is not in alignment with the firewall hole. Note that the holes in the firewall and insulator line up perfectly. The attached black & white firewall photo (snagged it off another post on Fordbarn) shows the drain hole lower on the firewall--directly underneath where mine is, but my insulator also had no hole there. I'll probably just ignore the hose since I don't plan to have this out in the rain, but I'm a curious sort, so was wondering about other 32 owners experience with this. Did Ford move the hole down lower at some point? Is there a difference between car and pickup firewalls? Was there a specially molded hose to accommodate the bends mine requires? Did everyone just let the water drain into the cab? :-)

And, yes, I know the coil was originally mounted inside. But there is enough junk crammed under there already. I'm not that much of a purist.

Yes the hole was moved lower to aid in drainage. I believe it was lowered about 3 inches without looking it up.

Re: 32 B Cowl Vent Drain
The lowered hole was a late running change to the firewall (and insulator). At any point in time production wise, all '32 firewalls were the same for cars, commercial vehicles, and trucks. That said, there were many running changes made to the '32 firewalls over the course of the model year.
