For Sale: A very nice camshaft for Model A’s and Model B’s (if not using mechanical fuel pump). Three-bearing style. It has a smooth idle and good power. Low miles on an older rebuild, driven slowly around town by an old man (Really!) The only reason we removed it from my friend’s engine was to install a high performance camshaft and cylinder head. Otherwise, my friend was quite pleased with the cam’s personality. Using my digital caliper, the center bearing measures about 1.5585” with good oil pump drive teeth. The lobes are about 1.65” without any wear indentations. Fairly sharp lobes, not worn down. Typical aging on bearing surfaces, but cannot be felt with the fingernail. Comes with an original style used timing gear nut.
Vendors offer reground camshafts for $69.95 plus shipping and “handling fees”. You must also send them a usable core camshaft, which can cost $20 to ship to them – if you even have a core. One camshaft seller requires $40 if no core is available. We’ll sell this excellent camshaft for that same core charge of $40 plus actual shipping cost within the USA - NO CORE CHARGE!!! That makes this cam cost way less than half of what the vendors charge. You’ll also eliminate the hassle of boxing up and mailing your camshaft core to the vendor.
