1933 - 34 Front Fenders
Guys are there any differences in the 1933 - 34 Ford passenger car front fenders? If so will the 33 fronts work on the 34 without modification? Thanks!

Re: 1933 - 34 Front Fenders
Both the front fenders and the front fender aprons are unique to each model year, but the degree of difference isn't very significant. While I do not have a good photo of the affected area of the fenders, the photos below of the fender aprons convey the difference. That on the left is a pair of '33 aprons and that on the right is '34 apron. On the '33s, looking along the strip where the fender would be attached you will notice an indented area surrounding one of the bolt holes near the front. That indented area is absent on the '34 apron. The front fenders mirror that difference. Accordingly, '34 front fenders could be used with '33 aprons without modification. Using '33 front fenders on '34 aprons requires that the indented area on the fender be smoothed out in order have a good fit.

Re: 1933 - 34 Front Fenders
A significant difference we have observed is the angle of the bolting flange of the fender to the bolting flange of the grille is different between 1933 and 1934.
1933 fenders with 1934 grilles will have the mismatch in front of the grill and if one tries to tighten bolts the tip of the fender will be distorted up, 1934 fenders with 1933 grille will have the mismatch behind the grill and bolting the fenders will distort the front of the fender down. Aft of the indented area David noted the fenders are basically the same (except for the very early 1933 "skirtless" versions. |

Thanks for sharing that; I've only had '33 fenders in recent years or I might have noticed that difference also. |
