Default 33-34 Bumper Brackets

I am looking for clarification on these bumper brackets. They are marked 33 and also 33-34 . They happened to be with a bunch of other stuff I bought at an auction. I do not want to misrepresent or sell something that is not described properly. From what I have gathered the inside bumper bolts are 22 inches on a 33 and 26 on a 34. The mounting holes to the frame are roughly 3 7/8 center. I spoke to a gentleman today whose mounting bolts to frame are 4 3/4 center to center. Front of frame 23 3/4 where brackets bolt? unsure of rear span mounting holes. Any help appreciated.

The pair of outer brackets, one with the license plate bracket attached, appear to be for a '36 given the bends in the outer ends. For that matter, although your photos aren't definitive enough to say for sure, they all look like '36 brackets with the inner fronts also the same for '35.

The simple acid test to distinguish '33 inner front brackets and rear brackets from all those that follow is the size of the bolt holes for the inner bumper attachment. The stainless steel capped bolts for the inner bumper attachment on a '33 have 7/16" diameter threads, while those bolts for the '34-'36 bumpers have 1/2" threads. In other words, a 1/2" diameter bolt will not pass through the holes in the front of '33 inner front brackets nor through the holes in the inside end of the '33 rear brackets.

Ok took some more pictures and measurements. A 1/2 bolt will go through every hole except where outer bumper bolts go. Thats true for both front and rear brackets. Front outer brackets are 24 inches long roughly.

Thanks for the additional photos as they confirm that all of the brackets are the '36 variety. Given that the front inner brackets are sort of bent, the tell tale is the shape of the back end of those brackets (completely semi-circular) and the spacing of the holes for the attachment to the chassis frame which narrow them down to '35-'36. The rest of the brackets are uniquely '36. (All '33-'36 bumper outer end bolts were 7/16".)

I could probably use a set of decent 36 front bumper brackets. Realistically, though, it may not be economical to send to "my neck of the woods". The parts may be far less expensive than the typically prohibitive freight cost and currency exchange. Shoot me a p.m. with the price you have in mind. (Decent repros are available). Thx. Ron

Another test for both the front and rear brackets is to put them on the frame and measure the distance between the bumper mounting holes for the inner pair. A '33 bumper has 22" between the inner mounting holes, and a '34 bumper has 26". To put it another way, the only difference between the '33 and '34 bumpers is the distance between the inner mounting holes. That is what makes the mounting brackets different.
