Help with Throttle linkage
Hi all. I am new to the Model A world. Just got a 1930 coupe with a Tillitson X carburetor. The carb is leaking so I bought a rebuild kit from Macs. After watching a bunch of Youtube videos on how to rebuild the carb I am about to take it off the car.
I have what may seem like a silly question...but I can't figure out how to remove the throttle linkage arm. Can anyone help? Thanks so much! |

Re: Help with Throttle linkage
It is spring loaded like a ball and socket joint. Take the part of the linkage that is on the carb and slide it forward while holding the link rod with the other hand to keep the link rod from moving. First time removing it is not obvious. From this point it gets easier. Oil the connection for the future so it can be more easily removed.

Re: Help with Throttle linkage
Thank you. You are correct. It did not seem obvious...but once I did it it was very easy.

Glad to help. Thanks for asking the question. Better to ask then break something.
