Default Door / Quarter Panel Pictures

Looking for pictures of 37 through 40 coupes showing the gap between the running board and the bottom of the door / quarter panel. Need to know what is acceptable, as I am installing the quarter panels at this time. Thank you......

Mine is just a "smidge" less than 11/16 inches from bottom of door and rear quarter panel to top of running board cover. A "smidge" equals 1/32 in. I think the goal is to get them even. It has been my experience that factory "gaps" on 40 Fords weren't an exact science.

Some bodies require more or less shimming of the body mounts to get the doors & other sheet metal to fit well so it is definitely not and exact type distance but more of an approximate I'd say. Good to know though for future reference.
