Default Columbia install question

On a 33 Tudor, to disconnect the u joint from the rear axle, which is best from the top or underneath the car? Thanks.

Installed more of them than I could possibly recall.
Interesting in that Columbia termed the driveshaft an axle.

Semantics. In a closed unit, they must have considered the rear axle and the driveshaft as a single unit.
