New here with model ar questions
I just bought a 1928 model ar stake body truck with emergency brake on left and a red steering wheel it has a zenith 1 carburetor and a powerhouse generator. Its in pretty good condition and runs and everything works on it. I paid 5k just wondering what its worth.

Re: New here with model ar questions
Does "worth" really matter?? Did you buy it just to "flip" it, or do you appreciate it for what it is and enjoy driving and maintaining it? Either way, it's worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it. So in your case, $5,000.

Re: New here with model ar questions
Whether you paid too much for it or not is irrelevant. You now have something you can enjoy like you can't enjoy $5K in the bank. Get out there and enjoy your truck.
By the way - Got pictures?

Re: New here with model ar questions
Need more photos like under the hood and inside the cab. Hows the sheet metal it looks good wet. I think you could double your money if the mechanicals are in good shape.

Re: New here with model ar questions
Nice looking truck. Judging by the wheels, rear window and rear view mirror
I think your truck is an early 1929. Do the rear brakes have one or two brake rods per side? Bob |

Re: New here with model ar questions
Go online and do a Google Search, type in "1928 Ford Model A Stake Bed" and see if there are others on the market out there.

Re: New here with model ar questions
$5,000.00. Unless it was in China I would have bought it myself.
If there aren’t some hidden problems, engine, running gear, you did well. Easily double your money. Enjoy. |

Re: New here with model ar questions
Hey bob 2 rods on each side and title says 1928 and the emergency brake is on the left side of cab and has a red steering wheel which should mean it a early model 1928

Re: New here with model ar questions
Not sure if you're fishing to make money or confirming you did OK on the deal.
I'm not sure I would go with the guys about doubling your money.. It's a AA and they don't go fast due to the rear axles and you say the mechanicals are good.. but doing what I do which is work on "A"'s every day I would probably say that people think their cars are OK and the truth is that they probably aren't. Front ends need rebuilt on many so called "restored" cars, brakes, steering gears.. etc. It looks solid and is probably an OK driver that needs work. I think the advise of Mark Maron is accurate at 5K is what you paid for it and is probably about what it's worth. Honestly there aren't a ton of folks looking/wanting to buy AA trucks. Put it on fordbarn here and see if anyone answers for 10K.... If I were you unless you bought to speculate I would just enjoy it right now like it is. Any underhood shots.. front end, chassis, inside cab to share? Thanks, Larry Shepard |

Re: New here with model ar questions
Jsain10; Welcome to the barn. Great Looking truck. That big flatbed will be great for doing trips to the dump, and landscape supplies. The truck will more then "pay" for itself just using it for everyday chores. At $5000. You did good. Now go enjoy it. Jeff

Good afternoon...These big girls are really cool...I hope you keep her and enjoy driving her. They love to be driven. If you really are curious, regarding the value, go on Hemmings.com and look up Ford Model AA Trucks and see what you see...Ernie
