Default What color did wire rims come in for 26 and 27 T's?

I just bought a pink '26 T Coupe and I am changing the color back to black. The guy who made this paint choice oughtta be shot, but it's too late for that now.

This car also has wire wheels, and the spokes and rims are cream colored. is this the correct color for a car of this era? What other colors were spokes painted back in the day that complimented a black car?

Here is the listing of colors for the '26-'27 wire wheels.

All factory wheels were black. Colors were a dealer option.

Early 1926: Casino Red (Dark Orange), Emerald Green (Apple Green) & Straw.

1926-27 to the end of production: Casino Red, Emerald Green, Straw, Orange, Vermillion Red.

I personally like the Straw wheels but on a black car the Casino Red really pop.
If you go the MTFCA forum and do a search for wire wheel color I'm sure you'll find some interesting stuff including some pictures.

Good luck.

I think the straw color looks good.

I think black wire wheels look best. I see some of the gawdiest colors on these old cars and to me it looks, well, undignified. Basic black looks right to me. But that is not what you asked...it is possible your cream wheels are correct for straw, althought if I recall correctly straw is more yellowish than cream-colored.

Greg,
I agree that some oddball colors do look just plain wrong but sometimes you need to infringe on dignity a bit for the sake of fun. My 25 DB looked pretty boring all black. ( The 26 touring beside it has black wheels though & looks just fine.)

Thanks much for the input, I believe my 'cream' is actually 'straw,' and I think it looks awful. I am going black, can't go wrong with that, just ask Henry...
