Default Looks like vapor lock

I drove my Model A about 65 miles today in temperatures over 100 degrees. Towards the end (last 5 miles) the car started to "buck" as if it was running low on fuel. I was able to get it to continue by opening up the GAV about one full turn. When I got home I opened up the hood to see what I could see. I have a short piece of clear plastic tubing as part of the fuel line. With the engine off I was surprised to see "vaporized fuel" bubbles passing through the fuel line from the carburetor towards the fuel tank. Obviously the fuel was being vaporized when it entered the fuel bowl in the carburetor. I tried to take a video of it but my smart phone would not take movies. It said it was too hot to take movies. It did let me take a couple of seconds of video before it shut down but you can not see much.

This is not traditional vapor lock. But I will call it vapor lock because there was vapor in the fuel line which was preventing normal fuel flow into the carburetor.

That is my story and I am sticking to it,

Bob

If it stalls in the heat, it's vapor lock. If it stumbles at red lights, it's vapor lock. If it boils over at 5 minute stops, it's vapor lock. This new gas sucks for cars with carburetors.
