Default Macungie Pa. Car Show

Anyone have any info on the Macungie, Pa. car show ?
I have been going since the 70's.
Last year they had a "cook off" of about 20 BarBQ guys roasting pigs or something in what was the swap meet area behind the pool.
It was miserable....the smoke would kill if you stayed in that section long enough. The rest of the swap was thin at best.
We're thinking of going this year (it's this week end)...
If they have the BarBQ guys again we will never go back....so sad...
Another great show/swap bites the dust ..in this case... eats the smoke

I went to Macungie several years ago and found a few goodies. I went back a year later and the guy who had the good stuff wasn't there. I also overheard a conversation of two vendors complaining that there were less people buying. So, I assumed that they weren't going to be there the following year. I also decided that I wasn't going to be there the next year either. I did to to the truck meet last year and I did buy some stuff.

The swap meet section has been getting smaller for years now.
Hardly worth the time.

I used to go to Macungie, but the venders dropped out and the BBQ people moved in. At the start of the show behind the restrooms there were always a few V 8 venders, but they haven't been there for a few years now. Lots of empty spaces. Have no desire to go this year.

We went on Friday (yesterday).
I usually attend on Fridays and I'm wondering if I'm going too early.
Maybe Saturday is the better day to go.
Friday was pretty thin in the swap area, lots of empty spaces.
Smokers were there in full smoke however..
A friend is going today (Saturday). He was there Friday so I'll ask him if Saturday was better.

MY wife and I went to the Macungie Show yesterday. Saw a lot of nice Early Fords. A beautiful 38, a couple of 34"s surprisingly, a couple of 41"s, a 39, and many more old Fords and other nice old and classic cars, trucks, motorcycles, tractors you name it! The weather was perfect. Stayed longer into the afternoon and early evening than usual. The parts vendors were sparse but I have more than enough of everything. The show and meeting old friends and acquaintances was well worth it!

There are two shows held in Macungie. The earlier show is called Das August Fest (please excuse the spelling). From what I understand this show is for restored vehicles. The later show, scheduled for August 25, 26 & 27 is sponsored by the Wheels of Time Car Club and is hot rods and customs.
