1940 Ford Deluxe Coupe
$52,500
Up for sale today is a beautiful example of an American classic. It is an all steel 1940 Ford deluxe coupe. A complete ground up restoration has just been completed on this hot rod, and it is now ready to be enjoyed for miles to come.

This 40 features shaved bumpers, painted running boards, awesome interior, Air Conditioning, power brakes, power steering and a custom frame holding a fantastic LT1 Engine setup.

First off, is the fully custom Chassis. Equipped with a Mustang II complete front end with Power Rack and Pinion steering and tubular control arms. A Ford 8 inch rear end with leaf springs is loaded up with a .325 gear. The entire frame and all components were painted with a glass black single stage paint. Custom Motor Mounts, brake pedal mount and transmission mount put the final touches on this awesome chassis.

In order to stop this ride, there are a set of disc brakes up front and drums in the rear. It’s rolling on 15 inch American Racing Torq Thrust Chrome wheels.

The body is unchopped and not channeled. Since purchasing it last year, the body has gotten a complete custom make-over. The car has a new set of floor boards, trunk tool trey and rear tail pan. Rust repair work was completed around the rear wheel wells, lower quarter panels, bottom of the doors and all the fenders. The firewall was replaced with a recessed panel and was smoothed out. The wiper and cowl vent were shaved along with the body trim. The car also features a v butt windshield. The front fenders are all original along with the rest of the front-end sheet metal. The hood was pie cut to bring the nose down and give the car an aggressive stance. There is a new chrome grill insert that provides the bling that the deluxe grill deserves. This body, once fixed, was straight and easily finished up in the body shop. We decided on a 70’s Mercedes’ Nickle Green (Basecoat Clearcoat) that shined up to a gloss finish. The entire underside of the body, fenders and running boards are all undercoated with spray on truck bed liner for durability.

Inside the car is all custom and brand new. The original steel dash was modified and now displays 2 Dolphin gauges and AC vents. The original glove box door with a modified box holds the Air Conditioning Controls. The chrome center grate finished the classic look and hides another AV vent. Under the dash is all nice and clean, with hidden switches, and all wired up using Haywire Wiring harness and fuse box. The new tilt steering column is topped with a shrunk 40 Ford wheel and fits perfectly. The seat is covered in a satin tan material. The interior in the car is reminiscent of the 1950’s styling with roll and tuck pleating and a fine wool carpet is on the floor. Custom stainless trim was created for the door and kick panels. Behind the metal garnish moldings is all new clear glass, with original regulators that roll flawlessly. The package trey contains a semi hidden storage box for holding all the necessities required when heading out for a cruise. The battery is hidden behind the seat for a nice clean complete interior. The trunk is finished off with the same detail as the interior of the car with fully upholstered panels and carpet. The covered truck lid automatically opens once the latch is released with a new set of Mr. 40 Struts.

The power plant of the car is LTI that was resurrected from a mid 90’s Corvette by Street and Performance and a complete wiring harness from Howell. The LTI is bolted up to a computer controlled 4L60E with a Lokar floor shifter. The engine features new headers and Cal Custom Chrome valve covers. It is cooled with a new Walker Radiator and an Electric fan. The custom exhaust finishes everything off with a great sound. The car is built to be a cruiser with plenty of power and a highway gear that lets you fly down the highway in comfort.

As you can see, a lot of time and money, went into this car. This car is being sold in order to let someone else enjoy it while I move onto the next project. I have put a few hundred miles on the car to get it all dialed in and it runs great. It is sold with a good Ohio title in my name. Email me or Give me a call and let’s talk.
