I had to move my battery location from drivers floorboard to firewall, mainly because of headers and brake master cylinder in the way. I got this solid heavy aluminum tray from Speedway, you just have to bolt it thru the firewall with long bolts or all thread, nuts and washers. It worked out perfect! Very strong and hood closes just fine. This tray was $40.00 but they have many different ones to choose. You can also find all kinds of battery trays on Ebay. There is no kit that I know of, just make one!

I have seen some nice 6 volt red top Optima battery mounts on the right side of the frame forward of the firewall. They had clamp on trays that required no drilling/cutting of the frame and did not interfere with headers.

There's also a "drop down" tray that you can bolt to the frame under the right front fender. Tray is made of stainless and you can get it from Speedway.

Here's my 35 roadster I made a box for. No extra holes to mount it. G.M.

I narrowed and lowered the battery box in the standard location. I used a Prius batter that is skinny but deep.

If you want to move the battery for dual exhaust here's another way. For this method you need to elongate the round hole in the left frame X member like the right side for the left hand front pipe to go through. I don't like the left pipe hanging under the X member. The problem with the battery under the floor it gets neglected and it's hard to get to. Both of these box's have a number of round holes to vent the battery G.M.
